Life often hits us with cloudy days. Not dangerous storms—just overcast. Blah days.

Annie sang it to us, “The sun will come out tomorrow,” and Jessi Colter reminded us, “Storms never last.”

Scripture tells us something even better.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).

Notice, the promise isn’t that every day will be bright. Some days are simply gray. Our prayers seem to rise no higher than the clouds. Our hearts feel heavy for no obvious reason. We go through the motions, waiting for the sunshine to return.

But the God who created the sun has never been hidden by the clouds.

The clouds may block your view of Him, but they never block His view of you.

The same God who was faithful yesterday is faithful on the overcast days. His promises have not changed. His presence has not diminished. His grace has not been exhausted.

Sometimes faith isn’t standing bravely in the middle of a hurricane. Sometimes faith is simply getting up, trusting God, and walking through another gray day until the light breaks through again.

And it will.

Not because every circumstance changes overnight, but because the Lord remains the same. The clouds are temporary. His faithfulness is eternal.

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23).

If today feels overcast, keep walking. Keep praying. Keep trusting.

The Son is still shining, even when you cannot see the sun.
